The La Center Waste Water Treatment Plant consisted of the conversion of an existing Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) treatment facility into a Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) system, using submerged membrane units, with 2 treatment trains, construction of a new headworks, with 2 rotary drum fine screens and related channels, gates and appurtenances, 4 new membrane basins, permeate pumps, pipe gallery and appurtenances and architectural upgrades to existing buildings.
Work also included the conversion of an existing SBR basin into an aerated sludge storage basin, installation of new MBR process blowers, new carbon odor scrubber, and relocation of existing blowers, relocation and expansion of the existing ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system, conversion of an existing building into an electrical and control building, the addition of new electric control centers, a motor generator unit, automatic transfer switch, and upgraded electric services.
