This project consists of installation of a 1,050 gpm pump and motor and construction of a treatment facility for the removal of manganese. The treatment system will include: chlorination for the oxidation of manganese and regeneration of the IMAX filter media, with the removal of manganese in a pressurized filter vessel containing IMAX media; sulfide removal in a GAC contactor system; a rechlorination system for removal of ammonia and providing a free chlorine residual; and breakpoint reaction contact time in a large diameter pipeline on the site. Other systems include a backwash and process residuals waste pump station; electrical panels and controls for filter and process automation; and backup power supply. The treatment facility will be constructed of a short wall of CMU blocks with a prefabricated metal building on top and metal trusses and metal roof. Site work will generally include raw and treated water utilities; power, signal, sewer and storm utilities; additional fencing; driveway; site grading; security improvements; and minor landscaping. Power supply and automatic control improvements will also be included in this project.
